1. Introduction and Scope

MathAI GPT is an artificial-intelligence mathematics assistant operated by JanoGroup LLC ("MathAI GPT," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy applies when you use mathaigpt.com, our web application, or our iOS or Android applications (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you acknowledge this policy.

2. Information We Process

Content you submit

Depending on the features you use, we process:

• Math questions, prompts, follow-up messages, and mathematical expressions.
• Images you select or capture for photo-based problem solving.
• Conversation context needed to answer a question or generate related practice.
• Messages or information you voluntarily send through support or contact channels.

Please do not submit passwords, payment-card data, health records, confidential documents, or other sensitive information. The Service is designed for mathematics and educational content.

Account and subscription information

Most features can be used without creating an account. If you choose to create or link a web account, we may process your email address, account identifier, authentication session, last-seen timestamps, subscription status, and identifiers used to connect your account to a billing provider. Authentication is provided through Supabase. We do not receive your email-account password.

For purchases, we process product selection, transaction and subscription status, entitlement status, renewal or expiration information, and billing-provider identifiers. We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number or bank credentials.

Technical and usage information

When you use the Service, we and our providers may process:

• IP address, request time, requested page or API route, and network or error information.
• Browser, device, operating-system, app-platform, and general location information derived from an IP address.
• Cookies, local-storage records, session records, and identifiers used for authentication, preferences, subscriptions, security, and rate limiting.
• Page views and basic interaction information when Google Analytics is enabled. We configure Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

The web and mobile experiences may store information locally, including:

• Conversation titles, messages, AI responses, topic organization, and related conversation state.
• App preferences, onboarding status, native review-prompt state, and temporary interface state.
• Free-use counters, cooldown timestamps, and subscription-access status.
• Authentication and subscription details needed to keep you signed in or recognize access.
• Cookies containing app-channel, subscription, session, and rate-limit information.

This information may remain until you delete it through available controls, clear browser or app storage, sign out where applicable, or delete the app. Device and cloud-backup services may retain copies according to your settings and their policies. Clearing local data may reset local preferences and conversations but does not necessarily delete billing, authentication, transaction, server-log, or backup records held elsewhere.

4. AI Requests and OpenAI

Math questions are sent through MathAI GPT's hosted API routes to OpenAI's API to generate answers and practice content. The information sent may include your prompt, recent conversation context, an attached image, and technical request information. Images are encoded for transmission when you submit them. Our application code does not intentionally create a permanent server-side archive of submitted prompts or images, but they pass through our hosting infrastructure and may appear in temporary operational logs or be processed and retained by service providers under their applicable terms and policies.

OpenAI controls its own systems, security practices, retention, and legal obligations. Review the OpenAI Privacy Policy.

5. Camera, Photos, and Device Permissions

MathAI GPT requests camera or photo-library access only when you choose a related feature and grant permission. Selected images are sent for processing only when you submit the request. You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings, although the associated feature will then be unavailable. The current MathAI GPT product does not require access to your contacts or precise location.

6. Payments and Subscriptions

Website subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Native-app purchases are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. These providers may process account or platform identifiers, device and app information, product selections, receipts, purchase tokens, transaction status, trial and renewal status, diagnostics, and fraud-prevention information. RevenueCat may send subscription lifecycle events to our hosted systems so we can maintain entitlement records and provide access.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and local storage to operate the Service, including to:

• Maintain authentication and subscription state.
• Distinguish native-app traffic from ordinary website traffic.
• Remember onboarding, usage allowances, conversations, and preferences.
• Apply security controls and rolling rate limits.

When configured, Google Analytics helps us understand page usage, browser and device categories, and general traffic patterns. Google may process analytics information under its own policies. Browser controls can restrict cookies or local storage, but doing so may prevent sign-in, subscriptions, usage tracking, or other features from working correctly.

Advertising and cross-app tracking

The current version of MathAI GPT does not display third-party advertisements, and we do not use the math questions or images you submit to target advertising to you. If we introduce advertising or cross-app tracking in the future, we will update this policy and provide any notices or consent choices required by applicable law.

8. How We Use Information

We use information as reasonably necessary to:

• Provide AI-generated solutions, explanations, follow-up conversations, and practice questions.
• Process images, maintain conversations, and remember your settings.
• Authenticate users, process and restore purchases, and provide Premium access.
• Administer free-use allowances, rate limits, and service availability.
• Diagnose errors, secure the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our terms.
• Understand and improve performance, usability, and reliability.
• Respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.

Where applicable, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations.

9. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information to service providers that help us operate the Service, including OpenAI, Netlify, Supabase, Stripe, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, and providers of infrastructure, security, analytics, and customer support. They process information under their own terms, privacy policies, and contractual obligations.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with law, regulation, court order, or enforceable legal process.
• Investigate fraud, misuse, security incidents, or violations of applicable agreements.
• Protect the rights, property, safety, and security of users, JanoGroup LLC, or others.
• Complete a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

10. Retention and Deletion

Retention varies by the type of information and the reason it is processed. Local conversations and preferences remain until removed through available controls or local app/browser data is cleared. Rate-limit records expire according to their applicable windows, although related cookies may remain longer to support rolling limits. Account and subscription records may be retained while an account or entitlement is active and afterward as needed for transaction records, fraud prevention, support, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and legitimate business purposes. Infrastructure logs and analytics are retained according to our settings and provider policies.

Third parties retain information according to their own agreements, policies, and legal obligations. Deleting local data or the app does not delete records controlled by OpenAI, Supabase, Stripe, RevenueCat, Apple, Google, Netlify, your backup provider, or another third party.

11. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the Service and the information we process. However, no device, transmission, network, API, or storage system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, uninterrupted availability, or prevention of unauthorized access. You are responsible for securing your device, email account, app-store account, backups, and information you choose to submit.

12. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, withdrawal of consent, or information about processing, and to appeal a decision or complain to a regulator. Applicable exceptions and identity-verification requirements may apply.

You can also:

• Delete local conversations and clear browser or app storage.
• Disable camera or photo access through device settings.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through the applicable billing provider.
• Sign out of an optional web account or contact us regarding an account or privacy request.
• Avoid submitting sensitive or identifying information in prompts and images.

We may be unable to identify information that is stored only on your device or associated only with an anonymous provider identifier. Requests concerning data controlled by a third party may need to be submitted directly to that provider.

13. Children's Privacy

MathAI GPT is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Users under 18 should use the Service only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian where required. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, please contact us.

14. International Processing

JanoGroup LLC is based in the United States. We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Providers are responsible for safeguards applicable to processing under their control.

15. AI Output and Educational Use

AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or unsuitable for your circumstances. MathAI GPT is provided for general educational and informational purposes and is not professional, medical, legal, financial, tax, mental-health, safety, or emergency advice. Verify important results and do not rely on the Service as the sole basis for decisions affecting health, safety, rights, finances, or legal obligations.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service, providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new last-updated date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Service, release notes, our website, or another legally appropriate method.
